Central Alberta
Situated within the heart of central Alberta, i3 has established a dominant land and infrastructure network across a prolific, multi-zonal section of the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Characterized by predictable, stacked, resource-rich reservoirs ranging from the Devonian Leduc formations through the Mississippian Banff and Pekisko formations to the Cretaceous Mannville group and shallower Colorado group of formations, these high-quality producing reservoirs are characterized by low decline, liquids-rich natural gas and light-oil reservoirs.
Covering approximately 320k net acres (573k gross acres), i3’s central Alberta position represents the largest portion of the Company’s current reserves, production and free cash flow. The existing production base draws strength from historically low decline rates on a diversified production mix. The area generates strong free cash flow resulting from minimal sustaining capital requirements, an extensive network of owned and operated processing and pipeline infrastructure, and a 69k acre portfolio of gross overriding royalty (“GORR”) lands. With year-round access to greater than 400 low-risk development locations, i3 is able to efficiently and effectively maximize value of this operated area across all price environments.
Near-term development is focused on a portfolio of highly economic, low-risk, development drilling locations focused on the Mannville group of formations, along with low-cost optimization, reactivation and recompletion opportunities. i3 additionally plans to target the highest rate of return opportunities in the Falher and Glauconitic formations to unlock the Company’s established reserves base and to capitalize on its extensive network of owned and operated infrastructure.
